CADE’s Chief Economist has a PhD in Regional Economy at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He also has a master degree in Economy at the University of Minas Gerais - UFMG. He graduated in Economy, Law and Business Administration. Since 2004, he is a researcher from the Institute of Applied Economic Research – IPEA. From 2015 to May 2016, he was the Deputy Director of Regional, Urban and Environmental Studies – DIRUR/IPEA. Between 2013 and 2014, he was the Coordinator of Regional Studies at the DIRUR/IPEA. He has experience in the field of quantitative methods, evaluation of public policies and regional and urban development, publishing several works in national and international academic journals. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Revista Econômica do Nordeste. He has more than 70 works published internationally and in Brazil.
