The Administrative Council for Economic Defense – CADE signed Memoranda of Understanding with the Inter-American Development Bank – IDB and the World Bank Group. By the signature of the agreements, the agency and the institutions undertake to share information of mutual interest which may facilitate identification and prevention of fraud, corruption and antitrust violations, such as cartels.
The agreements provide for reciprocal consultations and recommendations for actions and investigations conducted within each institution and joint participation in activities of common interest. Apart from focusing on how cooperation should occur, the memos provide for the confidentiality of information transmitted.
The documents were signed by the President of CADE, Vinicius Marques de Carvalho, the head of the Office of Institutional Integrity of the IDB, Maristella Aldana, and the Integrity Vice President of the World Bank, Leonard F. McCarthy.
The cooperation between CADE and the institutions will last three years and may be renewed for successive periods.
